As the old bridge over the River Isel was destroyed during the Second World War, it was necessary to build a new bridge. This new bridge was built as a truss bridge with a parallel design, corresponding to the lanes of the highway underneath the bridge. It has a span of 42 m and weighs 155 tonnes.
